Adams County Arts Council Show
Well,
Starting Aug. 27 until Sept. 27 I will be having a solo show at the Adams County Arts Council. It will include landscapes, both studio and plein air, and abstracts which represent "internal landscapes" where our feelings reside. I would love to have you drop in or, better yet, come to the first Friday reception on Sept. 5 from 5-7:30. I think you will enjoy this show. Here are two of the paintings from the show. Hope to see you there. If you can't make the reception, the ACAC is open 6 days a week from 9 to 5.

Three Sheets to the Wind
During the last few weeks, when it seemed as if spring was never coming, I decided to give myself a little dose of ocean breezes and summer sun so I painted a house on Monhegan Island in Maine near the harbor. You can feel the sun beat down and the wind off the ocean. It is titled "Three Sheets to the Wind" which was a state I was tempted to be in considering the weather we have had.

Cows and Apologies
I want to apologize to anyone who tried to leave a comment on this blog. We were having trouble getting it to accept comments from anyone except the administrator but we are working on it. When you go to leave a comment, you will get a list of identifications. If you have a google account, you can click on your google account, otherwise you will either have to appear anonymous or put in your name with a URL which you can list as "yourname.com." Then you will get a list of numbers you must enter to prove you are human (which I must not be because I sometimes can't tell what the number is). After all that, it will be sent to me by email and I will ok it to be published. I sincerely hope that does not deter anyone except spammers.
Meanwhile, I want to post another painting that I have been working on during the cold snowy weather we have been having. I found this field on Old Mill Road about a mile from my house and it was so summery and peaceful last August. The day was very hot and sunny, the grass was long and full of wildflowers including some Indian paintbrush, and the cows were cooling off by wading in the water. It made me feel much warmer while I was painting it and the snow was falling outside. The cows were probably sold off at the end of the fall because they have been gone all winter. I hate to think they are now burgers.

First Step
My accountant and various art associations say that I must have a web presence so I am starting down the slippery slope and leaving my nice safe technological dinosaur-hood and starting a (shudder) blog.
Here is a picture I recently finished. It is from a trip to Maine a few years ago.
